12 Weeks

I am 3 months pregnant today! Our baby is about the size of a lime this week! It weighs half an ounce. Our little one's eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head. The baby has reflexes now and if you probe the abdomen our baby will squirm in response. Baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements.

Saltines

I never knew the power of saltines until I became pregnant. Once the waves of nauseousness began I picked a box up at the grocery store. The salty and plain crackers helped in the morning when I started to feel queasy. This soon turned into a full day of snacking on these little crackers. At work I would feel my tummy grumble and grab my little package. In the middle of the night at 3am I would wake so hungry that I could no longer sleep. I would find my saltines downstairs in the dark and nibble away before sneaking back to bed. So far I have eaten them alone, with peanut butter, with pb and J, Pb and honey, cheese, cheese sticks... and still thinking of new ideas. My first trimester is coming to an end in a short time. I will not miss a lot of the symptoms that are supposed to disappear soon... but I may just keep my saltines.

11 Weeks.. a plum!

Our baby is a super-duper grower! Our lil' fetus will be gaining a substantial amount of weight this week and is the size of a small plum. Our little pierogo's palms have gained sensation and can actually “feel” what she touches. The baby is already kicking and stretching. She is also developing a swallow reflex this week. Some of her bones are beginning to harden. And lastly, our baby's smelling senses will begin developing this week, which when combined with the maturing taste buds, will provide our baby with their first experiences of taste and smell.
Info from baby gaga and babycenter.

Wachusett Mountain Fest

On Saturday we went to the Wachusett Mountain Fest with Jill and Marty. We had a blast looking at the crafts, listening to some German music, and going up the chairlift. Everyone tried the beer, while I tried the yummy hot apple cider!

10 Weeks.. nails on fingers and toes!

Our baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs rapidly grow and mature. He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout our pregnancy.
Tiny nails are forming on fingers and toes and peach-fuzz hair is beginning to grow on skin.
Our baby's limbs can bend now.
In the coming weeks, our baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

Pierogi

One night I was wearing my PJ shirt that says "You Bet Your Pierogi I'm Polish!".. (won at a traditional Zurawski side Christmas yankee swap yeeeowww!!!!)... Well Dwight said "How's our Pierogi doing in there?!"...
And there it began... Calling the baby a Pierogi..
"The Pierogi is making me feel sick today".. "When we have the Pierogi we should get this..."..
"What type of crib should we buy for the Pierogi"....
I have always loved Pierogis.. as all us Pollocks do.. and now I have one growing inside of me..
Sigh..
Dreams do come true.. ;0)

Jill and Marty are buying a home!

Yaaaaaay!! Jill and Marty are closing on a home at the end of October!!!
It's beautiful and we can't wait to see it in person!!

Congratulations you two!! xo

9 weeks!

I am going to cheat and copy and paste from babycenter.com... and delete/change what I need to... much easier. Don't worry about the She/He reference.. they do that on the site.. we wont know what we are having until May!!
Our pregnancy: 9 weeks

Our new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Our baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Our baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that our baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.

May 14th, 2009

First doctors appointment was today!.. I found out that the due date is May 14th!!..
This puts me at 8 weeks pregnant.. almost 9 weeks..
I thought I was at 6 weeks so this was a surprise to me. I figure they may adjust the date after the first ultrasound. So far I have felt well. I feel sick only once in a while and it is gone minutes after it starts. Hopefully things will continue to go smoothly :o)

Apple Picking with School

On Friday, October 3rd we took the Kindergarten on a field trip to an apple orchard called Apple Hill. We took a hayride, went in the huge refrigerater to learn about apples and cider, and we picked our own apples. It was a beautiful fall day and it reminded me of why I absolutely love living up in New Hampshire.
