Davis Farmland

On Thursday we headed to Davis farmland to meet up with Nicole and her girls. Davis farmland is a large petting zoo with a playground, hayride, pony rides, and a water park area.

A goat came over for a visit and the girls hid their snack traps...
The best part of Davis farmland is the water area. There are sprinklers everywhere. I had forgot to bring a bathing suit for Anya but we had extra clothes for her. She is going to be a little fish this summer. She LOVED the water!
See this water horse thingy... I have a story for you. When you use the horse you can aim it at people and at times the water gets really strong..Well I was walking in front of it and a little brat, I mean child, pointed it directly at my face and stopped. I was holding Anya's hands so I couldn't move away. I stood there getting pelted in the face unable to really move away. I said, you've got to be kidding me! Where were this kids parents?! I thought of going over to it and pelting said child back. I restrained myself. She's lucky she got me and not Anya or it would have been war.

I loved watching Anya's face when she got sprayed. She didn't want to get out. I have ordered her a pair of water shoes for next time. We will be going back this summer! :) Here are the 3 girls lounging after all of the water fun...

Nicole's visiting..

Nicole is one of my best friends from high school. At the end of our junior year we were in the same English class. The summer before senior year I was having a hard time. All of my close friends had ditched me and things were just icky. Oh high school you are a room full of drama. I called Nicole and invited her to the beach. She came with me and we were instantly inseparable. She was that friend that came into my world when I needed one most. We had such fun together, laughing until our stomachs hurt. We would ride around with 80s music blaring and singing at the top of our lungs. There are years of stories that followed but I will never forget that senior year. She moved to Texas five years ago, got married and had two beautiful daughters. She is visiting this week. She comes up a couple times a year to visit. The last time she was up was a year ago and I was still pregnant. Here we are twelve years later. Her first born, Samantha (3 yrs old), was ill yesterday and couldn't play. Her second born, Rachel, and Anya got to play and we had a picnic. It's so neat to see them together. We used to always say, imagine when we have kids and they play together? I feel like that was just yesterday yet here we are...Anya 12 months and Rachel 16 months

Hugs!

It was about 99 degrees when we took these pictures, too hot!
Yes, we checked for ticks

Nicole and I.. just like old times.. having a glass of vino!

It's so amazing to have friends that you keep forever. When we walked in there were a bunch of elderly ladies at the bar doing a wine tasting. A bus had brought them from an assisted living home. It was so ironic, we all thought... there we are in 50 years.
The following are pictures Nicole took. Check her out at Nicole Boniface Photography.

new ride

I put together Anya's new ride from her nana and grampy. We tried it out on this very hot morning. She loves it and even figured out how to toot the horn. She hated when I stopped pushing it to try to take a picture. See for yourself...

12 month appointment

Anya had a great 12 month appointment appointment today.
She now weighs 20 lbs 4 oz (35%) and she is 30 1/2 inches long (90%). She grew 2 inches since February, wow!

She is doing great :)

streamers, cake, balloons and presents

Birthday parties rule. It's a day of celebrating the life of someone with food, cake, songs and gifts. To celebrate our special little girl's first year of life was amazing. I had fun doing the whole thing...
Thank you to everyone that came and loves Anya so dearly. The place was packed with many wonderful people.

Here are pics from yesterday...
I made all of the cupcakes and her first birthday cake.

Getting ready for cake
blowing out the candle
this feels funny
She was hysterical with the cake. She would feel it and then clap and say yay! She loved all of the attention.
She loves her new chair from her aunt and uncle. She sat in it while she opened every gift with my help.

She got so many nice things.

I love this picture. The girls sat and watched her open gifts. Look at Anya's feet crossed.

Uncle Marty and Anya enjoying a cold one.

Dwight got to do some fishing before and after the party. We stayed later and relaxed on the deck too.

She had so much fun and was pooped at the end of the day. The car was packed to the roof with gifts. What a lucky girl. We are certainly lucky to have her in our life.

Anya's 1st Birthday

When I got Anya out of her crib this morning I sang her Happy Birthday and she looked at me with a huge smile. She opened her gifts...

In her card Dwight and I each wrote our own special message for Anya. I will save it for her forever.. We gave her a bunch of nice books and this Little People house....

She loves to open and shut the front door...

We headed to the Franklin Park zoo in Boston. When Anya saw the lion she said, cat!
She rode the carousel with me for the first time. She had a really frightened face when we started to move but it turned to a smile right away...
She loves to walk holding onto our hands...

We took a bench break.. here is Dwight with his one year old...
Here we are in the jungle. Notice Anya is looking at the waterfall. She wants to get out and explore all of the time now...

We let her walk around in the grass for a while before we left...

She is such a sweetie pie...

We went out to lunch after the zoo.
After lunch we headed to the park. It was so relaxing...

Dwight caught a fish...

Anya and I giggled on the dock looking at the water...

Her laughter and silliness is the best. I can only imagine what fun we will have in the next year...

Happy Birthday Anya! We had such a fun day celebrating as a family today! Thank you for the best year ever :)

Here is a quick video Dwight took when we rode the carousel...
