Visit to the fire station

Yesterday we were able to visit a fire station with our mom group. Anya and I rented "Elmo visits the fire station" from the library last week. She was very excited to see the fire engines just like Elmo did. She was able to go inside it as well and sit where the firefighters sit!

Schnitzelfest

This past Saturday we headed to Schnitzelfest. It is a German festival with food, beer, music and crafts. The best part is the food :) Schnitzel is a breaded fried pork which is really yummy. Anya had a fun time running around and her favorite food was the knockwurst (closest tasting meat there to a hotdog) and a lollipop a lady at a craft booth gave her.

Playspace

Last week we met my mom at an indoor playspace. Anya had a blast running around. There was a maze to climb through with slides, dinosaurs, a play grocery store, train table and even an indoor bounce house. These places are great on a rainy day or in the cold winter. :) Anya is now 1/3 way to 3 years old.. she is growing up so fast!

I'm back!

We were having computer issues this past week which explains why I haven't posted here in almost 2 weeks. Today the new cord arrived... I'm back! Here are a few pictures but there are more to come...
I headed to a park on the ocean with Anya on a whim one day. I picked her up a happy meal for a picnic. We had fun!

Apple Picking

Dwight and I brought Anya apple picking today. The air is starting to feel crisp. I love fall! I put Anya's hair in french braids all by myself this morning. I was so proud of myself ha!

The Farm

Today we headed to a farm for some family fun. Anya loved every moment of it. It was so heartwarming to see the happiness in her face. There is not much better than a beautiful September day spent with the family. I have too many favorite pictures from the day so I made a slideshow.

Puddles!

There's something about these boots. Maybe it's the cute froggie face? Or, maybe it's my girl's expressions as she runs back and forth through puddles in them. She loves her rain gear and she loves puddles. She even took a big fall and dusted the mud off while saying, I okay. She didn't want the fun to stop.

Dante James

On Friday we met up with Danielle and her new precious son, Dante, for a picnic. Anya couldn't wait to meet the new baby. It was amazing to see Anya holding him... it brought tears to my eyes. He is perfect!!

Baking 101

I have always looked forward to the day I could bake with my daughter. That day has arrived.. although messy.. it's here.

Oh, you want tips for baking with a toddler?! Well that's easy. Put on some good music.. I suggest something relaxing. Norah Jones, Carly Simon, or go with some blues. Light a candle. These things are for your nerves, not your toddler! Relax.. let go.. and let the messes happen. What is worse, a messy kitchen or missing out on memories like this? Teach and praise. Last but not least, taste those yummy baked goods together and tell your little one that they did a wonderful job.

Calling Herman

I am trying to figure out how to post videos on the blog once again. This clip was taken with my new camera. I just need to figure out how to make the clips longer than a few seconds. Anya was calling for our cat, Herman.
