play time and swaddle angel

Tummy time has been a lot easier lately with this pillow. It was actually a pillow that my mom had with a play mat that we found at a consignment shop. Speaking of consignment shops, I love them! The ones made especially for baby items and clothing are wonderful. We have found many cute things that are hardly used for a great price. The other day my mom and I found a cute toy that Anya will be able to play with when she sits up and then converts to a toy she can use when she stands up holding onto it. I get so excited with these great deals. I usually look up the selling price. Example: The toy we bought is selling for $45 in stores right now and we payed $15. Woot Woot!

I hung Anya's turtle over her head on the play mat. The turtle has a mirror on his belly and she loves to see herself looking up. She must be thinking "wow what a pretty baby!"

When I went in this morning to check on Anya this is what I saw. She is so darn cute swaddled up and looking so peaceful.

10 weeks old

Anya is 10 weeks old! She is now starting to grab at toys that are hanging above her. She smiles a lot, loves to be talked to and to hear us singing. She loves music, so I play music at home a lot. My mom and I brought her up to the outlets in Tilton on Monday. We found some cute clothes in Carters and Gymboree. Most of what we found is for next summer. I can't imagine her walking around next summer! Anya is definitely showing us when she is happy and when she is not happy. She is really starting to show us that she is a little person! I am enjoying every day with her and absolutely love being a mommy. :o)

Bumbo Bumbo

Anya has been having great head control this week. I have put her in the Bumbo and she does pretty well. It doesn't last long and she isn't completely there yet but so far it has started out nicely :o)

6 weeks has past...

This first photo is Anya at 3 weeks and the second is Anya at 9 weeks. We had the same outfit in size newborn and 3 months.. and good thing since it's a cute one! Thanks Erin and Bill :o) They grow so fast.. only a 6 week difference in time.

Sara and Paul's wedding

We went to my friend Sara's wedding last night. It was a beautiful day at the Sterling Country Club. She looked amazing and we had a wonderful time. Grandma Cindy watched Anya and we had a blast relaxing and enjoying our night out. They gave out stogi's and Dwight had one and I took a photo with it.. 'mom on the loose' as my friend Alyssa said to me haha.

Slept through the night!

Anya slept through the night last night! She went down at 7:30pm and didn't get up until 6am! Hooray for 10 and a half hours in one stretch :o) I woke around 5am and wanted to go check on her but didn't want to wake her so I forced myself back to sleep... I don't expect this to be a nightly occurance but it was so great that she was able to sleep for such a long stretch.

2 month appointment

This morning was Anya's 2 month appointment. She weighs 11 lbs 7 oz and her length is 22 1/2 inches. She is in the 66% for weight and 55% for height. We had to get a few immunizations while we were there. The first was a yucky liquid that was put in her mouth. She didn't seem to like this very much but didn't cry. The next were 3 shots. I had to hold her arms up so that she didn't hit the needle if she squirmed. I held back tears as she screamed at the top of her lungs. She quieted down after a minute or so of me holding her. She fell right asleep in the car and slept a bit this morning. She is now in her bouncy chair looking around the room. We don't go back until her 4 month appointment. I'm glad it's over with and I am happy she is growing nicely :o)

2 months old

Anya is 2 months old today! I brought her to a luncheon at a friend from work's house and she met Brailynn. Brailynn is my friend Tamara's baby girl who is 7 months old. It was great to see all of my old work buddies. :o) Here is a picture of Anya swaddled and going to bed. The swaddle has been helping with bedtime. It is an extra large one with bees on it. I will be buying another one tomorrow at mom group.

Hollys 7th Birthday Party

We went to Darlene and Jason's house yesterday for Holly's 7th birthday party! Anya had a great time smiling and kicking her feet around. She loved watching all of the people. She didn't like it when I put the birthday hat on her though. She was up for most of the day so her fussy time was a little hard when we got home. Once we got her down at 8pm she slept until 5:30 this morning! I was so happy to see that she had slept for more than 9 hours! This is a first. She had leaked through her diaper though being that it was a long time.. I will take it with the long stretch of sleep!!!

8 weeks old

7 Weeks

Anya turned 7 weeks old yesterday :o)

She is so fun.. smiling a lot now and she is a mover.. squirming around a lot. She is a nosey girl and she is always looking around the room. She loves when her daddy puts her to sleep. Her mom and dad love singing her silly songs to make her laugh. She loves any song being sung and smiles away at us. She has a fussy time at night from around 6:30pm to 9pm. We can't figure out why but she isn't too happy during this time. She doesn't cry but she whines off and on and just isn't herself. She loves her bouncer and swings. She loves car rides and stares out the window or sleeps through them. She also likes to sit outside with us in the shade.

She is eating 4-6 oz every 3-4 hours ... and still waking every 3 hours at night to eat.. sometimes 4 hours.

anniversary dinner

We left Anya with my parents so that we could celebrate our anniversary at Gibbet Hill (the place we got married). We had a wonderful time going out alone and having adult conversation and yummy food. The waitress took our appetizer off the bill because it was our anniversary and the bill came to 777!! 777 is our wedding date (I just had to take a photo). If you don't know our 'thing' with sevens.. it's a number that follows us around. We got married on that date because it was the only Saturday left at Gibbet in July or August of that year... I only later realized it was 777... I chose the latest time possible because I wanted a late wedding and it was booked for 7pm... my wedding band has 7 diamonds.. our room number the evening of our wedding was room 7... all coincidence.. and the list goes on and on...
Well dinner was spectacular and we picked Anya up and drove home.. put her to bed.. and watched our wedding video while sipping champagne.. It was just what I was hoping for!

Dwight has a bit of what we think is poison ivy in his eye. You can sort of see it in the photo above. This happened to me before and it is NOT fun.. we are hoping it goes away before he needs to schedule a doctors appointment.

Today I went to a mom support group with Anya. I was pleasantly surprised. My neighbor had told me about it and she was also there. She has a 4 month old girl :o) The place is called Nini Bambini in Bedford, NH. The moms and babies sit in a circle on blankets and discuss all sorts of mommyhood topics. It is great to see other babies and ask questions :o)

Oh and.. my rings fit again.. hooray!

2 years ago today...

... we started a life together. It has been two amazing years. I can't imagine life without having met Dwight. I could go on and on about the man he is and how lucky I am to have him but I will just write Happy Anniversary honey.. I love you more than you may ever even know.

Happy 4th of July!

On the 4th of July we went to a cookout at my sister Jill and my brother in law Marty's house. We saw some great friends and ate some yummy food. Many of our friends have children so it was so nice to see them all playing and running around together. At night the guys lit off many fireworks and they had a fire pit. Anya did great and we all had a wonderful day!

Birth Announcement Photo Shoot

These photos were taken at 5 weeks old for her birth announcement. I had to take about 40 pictures to get the ones that I love. We used the first picture as our birth announcement photo.

Today Anya is 6 weeks old! Hooray!.. I remember thinking about how at 6 weeks it would be much easier.. and it is. Those first few weeks are great but hard.. each week it gets easier and even more fun :o)
