little stories to remember

* Yesterday, Anya looked up at me and said "Mommy, I make you so happy". I looked down at her and said "You bet, you make me the happiest lady in the world".

* At a different time of the day I said "Anya, you are my buddy". She replied with, "I am your buddy too".

Sunday we celebrated the holidays with my dad's side. We know how to make girls on his side.. can you tell by the pic of the kids?...

Wonderful story from today ~
Today Anya and I tagged along to a doctors appointment with my mom. In the waiting room it was busy but completely quiet. Anya started singing, "jingle bells". Slowly one person after another joined her until the whole room was singing. It was like something out of the movies. I wanted to cry. This kid brings joy everywhere.. so happy she is ours. :)

first face paint

Anya had her first face paint done at a festival yesterday. She loved her kitty face. Photobucket
She also loved her sugar cookie..

On the drive home she was playing with my phone in the backseat. Dwight was sitting next to me in the passenger seat. His phone started ringing and he asked me how I was calling him. Anya had somehow called her daddy from the backseat. He answered the phone and they had a nice long conversation. It was so funny :) She loves talking on the phone.

don't fall

I hang blankets on top of Anya's curtains, which are on top of her blinds, which cover her windows. Crazy? Maybe, but it darkens her room and she is a good sleeper. Is she a good sleeper because of the dark room? Who knows? Is she a good sleeper because I don't rush in there to snuggle with a whimper at 2am? Maybe. Is she a good sleeper because I am a nap Nazi? Ha. Who knows the reason but I'm not giving up the darkened room. ;) Anyway, I was re-hanging this blanket on the curtain rod today while I balanced on top of the glider foot rest. Anya walked in the room and looked up at me.
"Don't fall", she said.
I burst out laughing.
I must say this to my little daredevil seeing that she picked it up and fed it back to me so easily.

Where are you? Socks.

The other day I heard Anya waking from her nap. I crept upstairs to find her fluffy smiling bedhead peeking up at me. I looked down to see bare feet.
I asked, Where are your socks, Anya?
She responded by looking around her crib and saying, Where are you? Socks. Where are you?
I laughed and looked around with her.
We finally found them in a corner.
She cracks me up.
These are the stories I hope I never forget.

Share

Today Dwight and I were trying to give Anya lessons on sharing her toys with us. We must have used the word, share a lot. When Anya was brushing her teeth tonight, I went to help by taking control of the toothbrush. She looked me right in the eye and said, no... share, in a serious voice. I couldn't help but laugh. :)
