first 3 word sentence

Anya said her first 3 word sentence today! It was, where are you? She was hiding from us and I always say, Anya, where are you? She has been hiding and saying her own name a lot lately. This prompts me to call for her. Yesterday she began saying, are you?.. and today was the first time I have heard three words in a sentence from her. It was clear as day and it made me smile so big.

She also stacked 4 blocks :)

I am guessing this is all due to tomorrows special day. Anya will be exactly 18 months. I can't believe we have a one and half year old child!

We went for a walk today. Here is a pic :)

I have seen her sign baby, more, hat, hi/bye, milk, cracker, eat, sleep, please, dad, mom.

Her favorite words right now are show, daddy, okay, hi, byebye.

She repeats a lot of words we ask her to say. She also knows where her eyes, nose, mouth, hair, arm, leg and toes are.

She follows instructions. If we ask her to go get her sippy cup, Elmo, etc. she will listen to us and come back with the item. She most frequently asks for nill (milk), a show (dvd), or Elmo. She also asks for owsye (outside) and understands when I tell her we are going to the store. She will look for her shoes if I tell her it is time to put on our shoes. She loves to pretend to count. She will say her version of "1, 2, 3 go go go" and run across the room. Sometimes she will point to her diaper and say bupper when she needs to be changed. If I ask her if she needs a new diaper she will walk to the stairway to go upstairs to her changing table. Changing her diaper and putting her in her highchair have become increasingly difficult as she gets angry with me.

She is turning into such a love bug and giving hugs and kisses left and right. This girl has such a great personality and will now tolerate much more with shopping trips. She has started to play a bit more independently. She likes to put little people and animals in and out of her farm and little people house. She also loves to 'help' me clean and push her baby doll in the stroller.

Every day gets more fun and exciting. :)

Right now her favorite words are bubbles, hi, and baby!
I really can't believe she is talking this much at 13 months. I love it :)

As for other cool stuff..
She points at things, will kiss her hand to blow a kiss (but doesn't remove the hand from her mouth lol), waves, claps, dances (swings her arms and moves her feet up and down), roars like a lion (or monster?), plays peek a boo, bends over to pick up small things from the floor, flips over to her belly on the changing table (scary!), holds on to the door to walk over a bump or 1 inch step, pulls on my legs or shirt to tell me she wants to be picked up.

While bringing her for a walk yesterday she started singing a little tune (not words just sounds).. I didn't say a word because I didn't want her to stop.

While putting her to bed the other day she looked at us and said, ba-bye!!

She doesn't do stairs yet but is intrigued by them.

Have I said how much fun this age is?!

officially walking and word list

Last night I put corner guards on the coffee table and Dwight finished installing child locks on the kitchen cabinets. We let Anya walk around and I noticed how well she was doing. I stopped following her around. It is surreal to have a child walking around the house by herself. Amazing! I still keep an eye on her but I am not following her every move. She still needs assistance with standing up on her own. I guess we can say she is officially a walker now! Herman is in trouble. She has already grabbed his tail while walking behind him. He got her back by running away causing her to fall down.

I want to keep track of what words she can say.
These are the words she says now:Wow
Oh wow (first 2 words together)
Cat
Mama
Dada
Mum
Papa (to her daddy)
Baba (not sure if she means bottle or something else?)
ba-bye (she was saying this while saying goodbye to grammy yesterday)

yeah

She has said yes, and cook (book) but not recently.

Chit chat

Anya's favorite word is duck. She will say "duck, duck, duck" at the most random times. It's pretty funny. This morning Dwight walked by her bedroom, waved and said hi to her. She looked up and waved back! Her newest word is uhoh. She drops something and she says uhoh. The cat runs by fast and she says uhoh. Sometimes she gets on a roll and says uhoh, uhoh, uhoh in her little voice. She also says, mama and dada. She has also said mum and dad (never the two together). She loves to say mamamamama. She tries to say cat but it usually sounds like caa or c..t. She will still try and say book but it is usually cook. She likes to say baba but I don't think she associates it with anything (like her bottle). She has favorite sounds. She likes to practice the sound of s, t, k, m, d, g, and sometimes h. Watching someone learn to talk is pretty amazing. Every time I hear a new sound I am in awe. Now, we better watch what we say around her. I would hate to hear, uhoh shit I dropped my cook.

cucks and cooks

Yesterday morning Dwight was getting ready and walked into Anya's room where we were playing. He said "hi, doodle" and she looked at him and said "hhhhhe". We both said , "Did she just say hi back?". Last night while giving Anya a bath I said 'duck' and she repeated back, "cuck". I heard her practicing, "cuck, cuck" this morning. Tonight I gave her a tote of books to pull them from and she said 'cook'.. I said 'yes, books!'.. and she said 'cook!"... She is putting the final sound in the front but she is beginning to repeat some words. I put "wow" as her first word in her baby book. She says it a lot now and will repeat us when we say it.

Today is the last day of the month. I successfully posted every day this month! I will not put that as a goal for March but I do expect to be posting almost every day :-)

Language

Anya has started to babble a lot more. Dwight and I swear that she says "wow". It definitely is the word, 'wow'.. but we aren't really sure if she knows what she is saying. If I give her sounds she will (sometimes) try and repeat them. The first time she repeated something back was a few weeks ago during her bath. I showed her the duck and said 'duck'. She said the two sounds, 'd'.... 'k'. If we say 'cat' to her she will say the sounds 'c'... 't'. Yesterday I was doing the sound of 's' and she was trying so hard and began copying me. Now if we can only get her to say 'mama'. ;)
