30 week photos

We had an ultrasound today to check the placement of the placenta. Everything looked good and the doctor will be reviewing the pictures to do a double check. I have never had an ultrasound this late in pregnancy. It was one of the most amazing things to see our little boys face for the first time on the screen.... Photobucket

It was even more amazing to see him moving around while I saw his face. I could see Anya in his features and I also see Dwight. We will see once he enters the real world. He has a bunch of hair and he is 3 lbs 5 oz so far. :) I love him even more after seeing him again. Here is another side view too.. Photobucket

Healthy Heart!

beating heart Pictures, Images and Photos

We had our echocardiograph today on the baby's heart. Everything is healthy!!! When the doctor met with us after the appointment and gave us the good news I started clapping!! We are just so happy and relieved. There is nothing better than this news. We heard the baby's heart a bunch of times (146 beats per minute) as they did different measurements. Everything in the heart was viewed and red and blue are used to view blood going in and out of the heart. Technology is really amazing. The baby did kick at us a few times during the ultrasound too :o)
Thank you for your positive thoughts and prayers.

24 Weeks

Our baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long, he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon. In the past few weeks, the top of the uterus has risen above my belly button and is now about the size of a soccer ball.

The baby is as long as an ear of corn.
What is new with us:

* We are psyched that January is coming to an end. It was filled with snow, snow, and more snow. We were both sick. Dwights car broke, our laptop broke, our car got towed, Dwight lost his wedding ring (yikes), and it just was a no good bad luck month... Yay for February!!!

* The doctor called us back about our 2nd second trimester ultrasound. The doctor could not see the whole heart again. All four chambers look good and everything that was seen looks healthy and great. The only problem is that one valve area of the heart has not been clear enough for viewing. We are being recommended to a cardio doctor in Manchester to do an ectocardiograph. This is basically another ultrasound that only focuses on the heart. We are very nervous and we are praying for our little dumpling. We know that things will most likely turn out fine but it gets you worried. It makes us realize how much we already love this little person that we don't know yet. Please send our little one your prayers that everything is healthy.

* I told the kindergarten class that I am having a baby. It was a lot of fun because they are very excited. Some of the questions were "Is it a boy or girl?".. "What are you naming it?".. "You should name it_____"... They loved sharing ideas for the baby name with me. :o)

19 Week Ultrasound

We had an ultrasound today and everything looked great. The tech said all of the organs and the heart look perfect. There are two arms, two hands, two legs and two feet :o) The baby was a bit quiet and hanging out at the bottom of the uterus. Here are some photos from the ultrasound. The first is a picture of the profile. I just love the little baby nose.
This second photo has a baby arm and hand. The face is hiding on the bottom right. Maybe our little one is putting its hands in the mouth?
This third photo is of the spine and head.
This last photo is a bit hard to figure out. But the baby has its head facing us and the head is on the bottom right almost upside down. It took me a while to get the picture deciphered but I now understand it :o)

Hope you enjoy the pictures and have a happy and safe New Year!! Here we come 2009!

Love at first sight

Here is the favorite picture:

Our first ultrasound was today!! The baby was kicking and moving all over the place!! It was so funny and amazing to see it moving and waving at us :o) We ended up having an hour long ultrasound because the tech couldn't get a good measurement that was needed. We got to see so much of our little pierogi!! The due date was a week off bringing us to May 21st. I am 12 weeks along instead of 13.. so we will just do week 13 again next week.. :o)
I wish I could show pics that were moving so you can see how active our little one is!

Here is a picture of the little foot:

In this picture our baby just realized how funny mommy and daddy are and is laughing at us:
