spring has sprung

FINALLY it feels like spring! My tulips are blooming..

Anya has discovered her love of throwing rocks down holes..
We have been able to enjoy being outside so much more this past week. There was puddle jumping, chalk drawing, stroller walking. Fingers are crossed that we will continue to have nice weather.

ball of energy

There is no denying it, Anya is a ball of energy. Lately by 5pm I am totally exhausted. I have so much fun with her so I am always stumped as to why I feel so tired at the end of the day. She is constantly on the move and rarely stops to take a rest. Her energy is positive and it's fun to watch her run from one end of the room to the next... but yes it can wear a mommy out! :) The best was after our busy weekend, Dwight looked at me and said, I don't know how you do it every day.. I'm exhausted!
Well I do it because I love it.. and look at this face?..
It is also so much fun to watch her do new things every day.

I try to plan activities for her that allow her to use this energy in a fun way. I have a lot of ideas brewing for the next few months :) I am loving the spring weather we are finally being blessed with.

splashing in puddles with friends

This morning we had some friends over to splash in puddles. We were going to meet at the playground but it rained out last night therefore everything was wet. We told our friends to come over with their rainboots. The kids had a BLAST. It was so much fun to watch them explore outdoors together.

By the end Anya had a bucket of water inside her boots! What a great way to burn off all that energy she has a constant supply of.

Easter 2011

The Easter bunny came to our home and brought a basket for Anya!

She had her first chocolate bunny and bit that ear right off!


We got ready to head out for an Easter cruise out of Boston with family.

Rainforest Cafe

We brought Anya to dinner at the Rainforest Cafe for the first time tonight. They sat us right next to a big fish tank. Our fish lover was excited.. and also antsy to get up out of her seat and run around (which didn't happen!). We were a little nervous about the 'thunderstorm' there but as soon as it started she started laughing! Can you tell how much she loved it?..

This year we are starting a new tradition (maybe?).. we are going on an Easter cruise out of Boston for the day. We are very excited. I will blog about it as soon as I can :)

Boston Children's Museum

Today we brought Anya to the Boston Children's Museum. She had a blast! It is three floors of fun. The second floor is geared toward children Anya's age, which was perfect.
I just happened to have the camera ready as Anya ran up to Dwight for a hug..

We ended our day in the bubble room :)

Anya loved the turtles. She didn't want to come out from viewing them under the tank..

Anya found a new fun place at her aunt and uncles house.. the wheel barrel :) Uncle Marty brings her for rides. Bubbles are always a hit too..

Today we visited Janice and Madelyn for a pizza play date. Anya and Madelyn have enough energy for an army. I couldn't get great pictures since they were on the move every second :)

I didn't get photos of our wonderful dinner yesterday. My mom, sister, Anya and I went to a Polish restaurant near my sister's house. It was fantastic!

'twas the weekend before Easter..

We started the weekend at a 1st birthday party for my cousin's son, Evan. The best part was when Elmo and Cookie Monster showed up!!! Anya was in her glories and clung on to Cookie Monster and wouldn't let go..

Here she is opening an Easter basket from Nana and Grampy! There was an egg hunt with daddy..

We love time spent with Auntie..

The weekend also included golf (Dwight), family, and grilling...

Just waiting for weather that really feels like spring :)

We had another fun filled week. Anya went to a special Easter play date that included an egg hunt and a special basket for each child. She has been playing with the eggs in it all week. There were a couple of sunshine filled days this week. We spent a lot of time outside and I got a glimpse of what our summer will be like. I love it.

We are lucky to have cousins with children a few years older than Anya. We get cool hand me down toys like this new ride..

You know it's spring when you have chalk in your back pocket..

We spent our Friday morning at a birthday play date complete with fruit pizza and goodie bags.

clydesdales

Anya loves 'horsies'. We lucked out with weather this weekend and got a lot of quality family time. After breakfast this morning Anya asked for 'horsies'. I am pretty sure she meant the type you put a quarter in and ride but we said, okay lets go see the clydesdales! We headed over to see the famous 'Bud' clydesdales. She loved it. We even lucked out with timing to see a couple of them being groomed.

Dear Anya,

I want you to know how much fun I have spending every day with you.

You and I have our own special relationship and I love that. You make me laugh and I make you laugh.

I take you places that I know you will love and in turn I end up having a blast myself.

I never knew how much fun it would be to watch you do new things and grow.

You are the best thing that has ever happened to me (well, other than daddy). You made us parents. You made us a family.

Life can be filled with so many disappointments, so much hurt. Sometimes I think about how making these memories with you is a gift to myself. During hard times I will have them to pull out and smile at. You are my ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. If I do nothing else in my life but be a positive influence in your life, I will be happy.
