Dwight's German Feast

Dwight cooked a German feast on Sunday.. it was amazing! He made wiener schnitzel, German potato salad, bratwurst and saurkraut. He also had German beer for those that were drinking. It was beautiful out.. a nice fall day. I'm so lucky to have married someone that likes to cook :) Photobucket

My sister had her wine glass sitting outside and an acorn fell right in it from the tree above! I think the chipmunks have good aim hehe... Photobucket

Anya loves being outside and had fun playing and running around.. Photobucket

Abby is almost 1 year old... only about a week until her birthday! Photobucket

4 more weeks until Seth will be joining us. We can't wait!

The kid's bedroom

Anya and Seth will be sharing a room. It worked out nicely that I knew I was pregnant with him at the time we transitioned her to a toddler bed. We just kept the crib up and added her new bed to the room. We didn't know the gender with Anya so the room was already pretty gender neutral other than the pink things that we had added. I had changed her curtains to pink so I changed them to blue once we found out our second baby is a boy. I also added ocean pictures to the wall above the crib.

Anya says she is excited to share her room. He will sleep in our bedroom at first. I have no clue on how long we will wait before transitioning him to her room. With Anya, she was in her own room at a few weeks old. This time we will have to go with the flow and see how many times he is waking at night. Anya has shared a room with her cousin, Abby, a few times and it always seems to go well.

My parents generously bought us a crib mattress for Seth along with the nice blue mesh bumper. The bumper is safer since it is mesh and is one of the things we needed for him.

My sister got us an insect mobile to use in the crib. She had given me a gift card too and I got a new music soother for him as well. Anya plays the music at night sometimes already from it.

I moved all of Anya's clothes to the right side of her closet and I added the baby clothes to the left side. It worked out nicely that she grew out of a lot of her summer clothes this year. It gave me much more room to add those cute little blue sleepers and outfits that my friends have been so kind to give as gifts. I still kept Anya's gender neutral items as well. My friend, Janice, was so kind to give us her son's hand me downs. He was a last year October baby so it works out perfectly.

Here are some photos that I took this morning..

FIRST DAY OF PRESCHOOL

Today is Anya's first day of preschool! She was up early jumping in my bed saying "do I go to school today?!". She couldn't wait to go :) Dwight came with me to the drop off. She was very eager to get in her classroom and start playing. Today the kids get to play with red play-doh (red is the color of the month) and they get to explore the classroom and playground. She ran up to a little girl that she just met yesterday and gave her a hug. There were no tears on her end at all but I got teary a couple times this morning. I keep thinking "Where did the past 3 years go?". It goes by so fast. It is nice to actually have 3 hours to myself this morning although very soon we will have a newborn to fill up those hours :) Here are some photos from our exciting morning..

Just a Visit day at school

This morning Anya had "Just a Visit Day" at school. It was an hour long and she met her teachers and class. All of the parents went to a meeting about the school year in another room. Anya LOVED it. She said her favorite part was playing with the 'horsies'. Tomorrow is her first official day by herself. We lucked out with a cool and beautiful fall morning to start the school year.
