Day at the farm

Yesterday, we headed to the farm with my sister and Abby to meet up with a few friends. Anya was in heaven between grooming ponies and bunnies and getting to hold a 5 day old goat! We ended the day at the farm's splashpad which also had a bubble area and a slip and slide. It was a fun day and we headed to Nana's pool to cool off after. Beach fun

On Thursday we headed to the beach with my mom, sister and Abby. Anya was SO excited for the beach.. it's her favorite place. She couldn't wait to put her feet in the water. She flew her first kite, collected crabs near the rocks and tidal pools, and definitely did not want to leave. We stopped for lunch after the beach and she had clam chowder and a hot dog. She is such a little ham and spent lunch successfully trying to make Abby laugh with sounds and faces. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Waterbug cousins :)

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Today was Abby's first time in a bigger pool and she loved it. Anya loves swimming as usual. She can kick around with just her arm floaties on. She has gotten even better than last year. She spent most of the day swimming away!

Newburyport

Photobucket Over the weekend we headed to Newburyport for the day to celebrate my birthday a little early. The weather wasn't the greatest but we ate seafood and walked around downtown. We also celebrated Fathers Day on Sunday with yummy steaks at a cookout :)

It is supposed to hit high 90s for temps by mid-week. Bring on the pool and the AC. Recently, we have had really nice cool nights for sleeping.

Bring it on 31 years.. I have a lot to look forward to at 31. Completing our family of 4 is at the top of the list :)

22 weeks

Here I am at 5 months pregnant... 4 more to go!!
How am I feeling?  Okay but not the best.  I still feel nauseous on and off.. tired by the afternoon.. not much of an appetite.  I pee a million times a day since Seth is camped out on my bladder.  I am looking forward to October.  :o)

Strawberry picking

Growing up we used to go strawberry picking at the end of the school year. It is a lot of fun to now see Anya picking those yummy juicy strawberries. We had a wonderful time in the field yesterday. It was a gorgeous day for it! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Happy Dad's Day to my favorite everything

We have grown so much as parents in the last three years. It's been amazing to watch your relationship blossom with our daughter. I can't wait to see what we have in store with two children.. a daughter and a son. I love you so much!! I think of the dreams we have together and how we are making them come true. Thank you for going on this journey with me. I wouldn't choose anyone else to be by my side. You rock. xoxo.

Hi, baby

Lying in bed this morning I felt a small kick.. and then another. This isn't out of the ordinary but this morning I opened my eyes and said, Hi baby, to myself. Tomorrow is a big day for us. It's the big ultrasound.. you know the one where we find out if this baby is a boy or a girl.

At times I wonder why it even matters to so many, the gender.  Anya has showed us that although she is a girl she loves dinosaurs, trains, mud, digging, and running around like a maniac.  She does still let me dress her up like a doll, wear bows, play with her baby dolls, and calls any ruffle a tu-tu.  However, her favorite color is blue and out of the entire Disney Store yesterday she chose to buy Ursula with her gift card she received on her birthday.  I love how she is.  I love that she doesn't sleep in only princess dresses and that she doesn't only wear the color pink.  If that is who she chose to be, however, you know that we would be smiling and embracing all of the pink glitter.

No matter, girl or boy, this baby is joining our family and I know he or she will be bringing so much of his/her own personality.  Maybe this one will love musicals, baseball, ballet, or skiing.  Maybe this one will be shy and artsy.  We just don't know.  I do know that we will love him or her completely as we do with Anya.  I do know that while I was in our quiet home this morning, as I felt our baby move I had some images.

I saw us as a family of four all snuggled up in bed early in the morning before anyone wants to get ready for the day. I heard the whispers and giggles that will someday come from the kids room as they share so much more than we understand.  I imagined us cheering on our baby as he or she takes the first steps.  I saw our two kids under a tent with flashlights and sleeping bags pretending to camp out in the house.  I saw family movie nights where we all somehow fit on the couch together, popcorn and all.  I see a complete family with so many memories to make up ahead.

I can't wait to see our little baby on that screen tomorrow.  I can't wait to know a little more about you, baby, whether you are a girl or a boy.  We already can't wait for you to join us.  We are so blessed to have you.  It might be a little crazy here but I think you will fit right in.

rainy day paper bag puppets

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Anya got a kit to make paper bag puppets from her friend Justin for her birthday. Today was a rainy day so we pulled it out. We both had a great time. She made an elephant and cow but there are 3 more she can make at another time. :)
