On Friday we met up with Danielle and her new precious son, Dante, for a picnic. Anya couldn't wait to meet the new baby. It was amazing to see Anya holding him... it brought tears to my eyes. He is perfect!!

It's always fun to shower a friend with baby gifts before she enters into the great journey of motherhood. On Sunday, we all gathered to celebrate the soon to be mom, Danielle. I love this picture of Daryl and Danielle laughing...

We met up with our friends Erin, Billy and Julianna at an indoor playground today for some fun. The best part was this big slide. I took Anya down a few times and she loved it. It kind of made me dizzy since it swayed a little bit while you climbed up, but it was worth it.

I'm thinking gymnastic classes are in the future for her.. Anya with her buddy Billy who she calls "B"..

I love this action shot of Anya in the bounce house. She can do more every time I bring her somewhere new. She is growing up right before my eyes. :)

Madelyn and Anya's play date

We had our friends, Madelyn and Janice, over for a play date today. We had a wonderful time. The girls really enjoyed playing together..

bluegrass festival

Over the weekend Anya attended a bluegrass festival. It seems that she enjoys a variety of music including bluegrass..

She really enjoyed seeing my friend Danielle's dog, Roxy. :)

Beach weekend

We spent the weekend at the beach with friends. We do this every year in September and it is a great time. Anya especially loved seeing her friend Ella and her uncle Eddie.
Anya and Ella played together so nicely. They ran around doing cute little squeals of excitement. They even got to jump on Ski's bed. Ella is one of Anya's new best buds.
They loved playing with sand toys and bubbles.

We kept Anya up until the sun went down. She must have wondered why it got dark outside. It has been light when she goes to bed for the past few months.

In the morning she would wake up, look out over her pack and play, and say "daddy!"

The beach was beautiful. It's a bit quieter in September and the night air is cool. It is our own way of saying goodbye to summer. Goodbye summer.. you were a great one.. maybe the best one yet. See you next year.

September is here.. and it's still hot

Next week is going to be filled with temps in the 70s and we can't wait! But for now it is still in the 90s. We headed to a splash pad this morning with my friend Erin and her kids Billy and Julianna. I have mentioned Erin before but the history is that she married Dwight's good friend, Bill, from college. That is how we met. We just happen to live 15 minutes away from them. AND Erin just so happens to be a stay at home mom now. It's wonderful.

1 year ago today..

One year ago the May babies had their first play date.

Today we all met up (minus Natalie and Kai who couldn't make it) at a new friend's (Leigh and Meredith, who is also a May baby!) house.

Madelyn's 2nd Birthday

Over the weekend we celebrated our friend Madelyn's 2nd birthday. Anya had a blast playing with all of the outdoor toys and eating pizza crust. :)

Moving to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches

This morning we headed out to go peach picking with our friends in the mom group. Today was special because our friend Erin and her two kids have joined the mom group and would be picking as well. I had such a blast! I love farms.. any type.. and it was so cute to see all of the kids in the orchard together. This was my first time picking peaches. They were huge!

There are also goats and the kids loved looking into the fence and feeding them. Anya would walk up close and laugh or chatter something and then run away only to turn back and go close again. Here is Kai and Anya looking at the goats..

This farm had a cute store with yummy donuts and baked goods as well as fresh veggies and fruits. I gave Anya a small strawberry donut and she ate the whole thing.
Anya is napping now and I sit here with my fresh apple scone and iced coffee with a big smile on my face. I am so happy to have met these wonderful families to spend our days with. I think it is equally rewarding to me as it is for my little social butterfly.
